February 25, 2010 –Ocala Gran Prix (OGP) pilot Nick Neri scored three victories and another second place results in the past two weekends of the Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour (FWT) campaign. With the event taking place at the Palm Beach International Raceway in Jupiter, Florida, Neri showed that he is one of the best up-and-coming karters that North America has to offer.

First on the docket was the Formula Pro Rotax category on the February 12 – 14th weekend where Neri would compete with a senior powerplant. Showing his speed early on Friday, Neri worked with his tuner, Race Tech Development’s Mike Maurini to fine tune his Tony Kart Racer chassis to perform well in all conditions.

Saturday and Sunday provided the same results for the Floridian pilot as he swept all on track action in both days of competition. Neri claimed both pole positions, prefinal wins and main event victories on his way to scoring the fastest lap of the weekend award for his class and extending his overall point lead.

Switching back to the junior ranks on the second weekend, Neri would compete against nearly sixty other competitors in the hopes to attain race wins and valuable championship points. The Ocala Gran Prix powered Tony Kart pilot would claim both pole positions but would falter slightly in Saturday’s wheel-to-wheel action by coming home third in the prefinal and second in the main event. Looking to redeem himself Sunday, Neri scored another perfect day by sweeping all official timed sessions and scoring maximum points in his chase for the championship.

“The past two weekends at PBIR have been incredible. Our whole package and team worked well together, and we were able to have some great results,” expressed championship point leader Nick Neri. “I am excited to head to Ocala in March with a shot at both titles and a chance to get back to the Rotax World Finals.”

Neri added, “I would like to thank Ocala Gran Prix, Tony Kart, my tuner Mike Maurini, Jorge Arellano, Kyle Kraus and Martin Koene from Koene Engines for all of their help and support this entire series.”

Next on the docket for Nick Neri will be the third rounds of the Florida Winter Tour. Competing in Rotax Junior on the first weekend, Neri will shift his focus on weekend two as he looks to claim the senior championship in the first ever Formula Pro Rotax category.

Nick Neri would like to thank his all of his 2010 supporters: Ocala Gran Prix, Tony Kart Florida, Josh Power, High Rev Engineering, Alpinestars, SKF Bearings, Grand Products, Bridgestone, Koene Engines and Race Tech Development.
